April Showers of Blessings
April was a month of fun, family, and blessings. Grandpa Gene and Grandma Rita visited over Palm Sunday weekend and we soaked up some outdoor time at the local parks. One of the parks, literally in our back yard, was apparently founded by one of my ancestors! Who knew!! It was a special moment to share that with my dad while we were at the park. My dad and I love sharing family history facts, so this was a fun new find.
We were also blessed with the purchase of a new MINIVAN!!!! After praying for 2 years for a minivan, the Lord provided through our dear friends back home in Iowa, and we are LOVING our new van, the added space and the air! We do miss our little white car, mommy misses the sunroof the most, but we do NOT miss not having air or the cramped space!
Another blessing was celebrating our 4th Easter here, and this year we got to spend it with our dear friends, the Cline family. We got to have an Easter egg hunt in their yard, ride bikes, run barefoot in the grass and celebrate Spring, and also our Risen Savior.
I have no clue how she got that taggie on her back! She woke up from her nap like this.

Abi got new spoons, bows, and I think a new little teether toy. Isaac got some new alphabet flash cards and new sippy cups ;)

Mommy cleaned out the closet, so Isaac wanted to try on EVERYTHING.
He was supposed to be napping in his bed, but then I discovered this! He'd gotten his stool, gathered a ton of books, and helped himself to our bed!

Please Help Water Our Thirsty World
But there are people in this world who do not have fresh drinking water, and instead drink from streams that they've had to walk miles for just a taste of the dirty brown water. They deserve more, and we can help.
There is a wonderful organization out of southeast Iowa called Water Our Thirsty World whose purpose is to take chlorine filtration systems to parts of the worlds where there is no clean water.

If you would like to give, you may visit their site at www.ourthirstyworld.org and you can give via paypal on their "Get Involved" page. In roughly 3 short weeks, the team at WOTW will be taking chlorine devices to villages in Africa, and teaching the local people how to use their devices, and the importance of drinking and using clean water. He is Risen! Happy Easter!
I received this in an email from a friend about 5 years ago, and ever since, I love going back and reading it on Easter, and being reminded of the meaning even in the most seemingly insignificant details surrounding the empty tomb...
Why did Jesus fold the Napkin?
Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection?
The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded and was placed at the head of that stony coffin.
Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus
loved. She said, "They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!"

The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished.
Is it really significant? Yes!

Mommy and the kiddos walked to Baskin Robbins for a nice little treat since it was so warm out. Abi was NOT happy that she didn't get to try any ice cream yet.

Daddy was slightly mean to the little guy the other morning, and put his new diaper over his clothes. Isaac wasn't quite awake enough to realize it wasn't quite right.

Daddy brought Mommy home a frozen treat the other night. Poor little guy felt left out, and Mommy caved and gave him the last few tastes. Best Mommy in the world!!! (...or worst Mommy for feeding him sugar before bed!) ;)
